The focus on Yiddish idioms and folklore as an expression of Ashkenazi Jewry's historical experience and of Judaism as a lived tradition. Moreover, as hundreds of Yiddish words and idioms made their way into American English, some of that humor became a staple of contemporary humor. Led by Gil Ribak, Associate Professor at the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Arizona.
