Legislative Action Center - Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce

COVID-19 Liability Coalition Letter

The need for timely, targeted, and temporary federal liability relief related to COVID-19 remains critical to our nation’s response to, and eventual recovery from, this pandemic. Congress must take bipartisan action on this issue as part of any future relief efforts. We hope that you will join us in another letter calling on lawmakers to do so.

The deadline to sign the coalition letter is 12:00 PM on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.

Many educational institutions, healthcare providers, businesses, and non-profit organizations are very concerned about unfair lawsuits. Companies are now seriously concerned about what happens when an employee gets COVID-19 on the job and says the employer should have done more to stop it. In countless interviews, the Chamber has heard over and over that businesses are concerned about being sued over meritless litigation.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. Please let us know any feedback you receive, as well.
